Established in 1876 by Colonel Robert P. Grant (a second cousin of Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the U.S.), who also founded the first bank in Clayton - now Key Bank of New York. We are Clayton's oldest continuous insurance business, with three successive generations of the Grant family, and since January 1, 1962, four generations of the Cerow family. Our operations expanded into Alexandria Bay in 1978, with the opening of a branch office. Then, in 1989 a new Clayton office facility was constructed, complete with state-of-the-art computer technology and the latest in office innovations. Our latest investment in the North Country is a new building at 1 Market Street in Alexandria Bay, occupied in September of 2011. Narelle and Alison hope you stop by and check us out. Currently, the Cerow Agency, Inc. serves the insurance needs of about 2,000 clients throughout the Jefferson County area, and premium volume is split roughly between commercial and personal lines. |
